This program takes 3-year-olds in small groups (no more than 4 per instructor) and teaches them to be submerged under water, how to control their breath, and how to kick forward through the water. Classes are engaging, using imaginative daily themes.
Toddler Swimming Classes in Flower Mound
Of all the available activities for toddlers, you might be considering signing your little one up for swimming lessons in Flower Mound.
It’s a good choice, as it’s not only a healthy activity but one that can provide years of fun and water safety. However, if your child has never been in the water or has only taken a few dips, you might worry that it’s a bit early to get started – and about safety. In this guide, we aim to answer your questions, clear your worries, and help you make the best decision for your toddler.
Is My Child Really Ready for Swim Classes?
At Emler Swim School, we aim to help every child – regardless of comfort or ability – learn to swim. We have lessons for children who have never been in a pool, children who are already on their way to swimming well, and all children in between.
When you choose Emler, we start children under the age of three in a class with their parent. We aren’t interested in “throwing them in the deep end.” Our team wants your child to learn to swim safely and confidently, so we begin lessons at their skill level – even if they haven’t developed skills yet.
Through each lesson full of fun and games, toddlers begin to naturally develop swimming skills. They aren’t competing with others and they aren’t pressured to perform. We simply engage them in activities that help them become strong swimmers. And due to our approach, we believe that every child is ready for swim lessons, regardless of age or abilities.
Are Swim Lessons Safe for My Toddler?
It’s also natural to be concerned about the safety of swimming lessons. Yes, your toddler is learning to swim, but are they safe in the process?
At Emler, safety is a paramount concern, and we take many steps to ensure it – beginning with the pool itself. We use a UV water purification system to limit the number of chemicals used while still keeping the pool clean and maintained. We also invest in high-quality air filtration systems and antimicrobial filters.
In addition to our facilities, we ensure safety through other methods. Once the parent is out of the water, each Flower Mound class is kept to no more than four students per instructor. Our instructors and lifeguards have ongoing training. We also require parents to stay close by during swim lessons to ensure comfort and safety.
Our swim lessons are also designed to teach every child water safety techniques. Even the youngest begin learning breath control and turning around to get back to the wall to keep them safe in the water.
The bottom line is that there are never any guarantees. However, when you choose swim lessons from a school that prioritizes safety and offers constant monitoring, your toddler can be very safe. In fact, as drowning in a backyard pool is a leading cause of death for children, swim lessons can actually greatly increase your little one’s level of safety in and around the water.
