Aquatots San Antonio – Stone Oak

3 years

This program takes 3-year-olds in small groups (no more than 4 per instructor) and teaches them to be submerged under water, how to control their breath, and how to kick forward through the water. Classes are engaging, using imaginative daily themes.

Toddler Swimming Classes in San Antonio - Stone Oak

Swimming lessons are a great idea for children of all ages – even those as young as two months.

Among the various programs we offer at Emler Swim School, we love bringing three-year-olds into our Aquatots program. Why choose Emler for toddler swim lessons? We share some of the top reasons below.

The Right Lessons for Your Child

At Emler, we ensure that your toddler is started off in lessons that build on skills they already have – even if they have none yet. A 10-minute Swim Skills Evaluation with one of our instructors is provided to determine the best level for your child to begin with. And we offer lessons for all levels.

Progressive Lessons in the Form of Fun and Games

It might look like your little one is just playing games and having a good time – and they are. However, they do so in structured lessons that allow them to progress as they build their skills. Each level builds on the previous one to ensure a thorough approach. And as we believe repetition is important, your little one will practice until they’ve mastered the skills.

Small Classes

Emler swim classes in Stone Oak are kept small intentionally, with no more than four students to each instructor. This is beneficial as it not only increases safety in the water but also ensures each child gets the attention they need.

Boost In Confidence

Every milestone of swimming is celebrated – and not just by the instructors. Parents are always present, watching, praising, and cheering from either the bench or our observation room. And we leave competition out of the mix. This allows each child to get comfortable without any unnecessary pressure and to be celebrated for all of their efforts. Such action can build confidence in children that they can benefit from for the rest of their lives.

Water Safety

Our students aren’t just having a good time in the water. They are also learning and mastering safety techniques, including rollover breathing. Water safety is critical for everyone, but it can be especially important for children. Without these skills, a child could easily fall into a lake or family pool and drown – something that occurs more often than most people are aware of. So, even if your child decides that water fun isn’t for them, they’ll always have the skills to increase their chances of survival should an accident occur.

Healthy Activity Away From Screens

We all know that digital devices can be a wealth of knowledge – and a great distraction on long road trips or other specific events. However, we can also all agree that children often spend way too much time in front of them. Though it once seemed more like an issue with teenagers, it’s challenging to find a young child who isn’t parked in front of some type of device.

Swimming lessons provide a great break away from technology. They also provide a healthy activity, in general. Swimming is excellent for the heart, posture, muscle tone, weight management, lung health, flexibility, stress management, and more. It can also improve cognitive function, immunity, memory, and more. And don’t overlook the fact that fun in the water can lead to a great afternoon nap – something that helps your little one grow healthy and strong.
