This program takes 3-year-olds in small groups (no more than 4 per instructor) and teaches them to be submerged under water, how to control their breath, and how to kick forward through the water. Classes are engaging, using imaginative daily themes.
Toddler Swimming Classes in Spring-Klein
Emler's Waterbabies program in Spring-Klein uses songs, toys and games to teach your toddler submersion, breath control, and destination kicking by unlocking their creativity and imagination.
They also learn the safety skill of turning around to get back to the wall, climbing out for safety.
The program is for children up to 35 months, whether or not they have experience in the water. Emler’s goal is to teach children with no swimming skills to swim and to advance swimming abilities for those with existing skills to achieve the Waterbabies’ level of expertise.
Our classes are kept small. We do not exceed four students per instructor when the parent is not in the water to ensure your young one can learn how to submerge and kick through water in a safe environment.
The Emler Approach
Kids love to learn, grow, and have lots of fun. Emler aims to make this possible by offering lessons combining the three aspects of development. The classes are always fun since they’re taught through songs and games. We ensure the classes are non-competitive, allowing other kids to celebrate your child’s accomplishment in the pool.
Our certified and highly specialized teachers introduce your child to the fun of water in progressive steps. The lessons become more exciting with every step. Your kids will learn to hold their breath for longer, roll over in the water, submerge, and move through the water independently. All this is done naturally, with kids surrounded by happy faces, laughter, and positive energy.
The teachers create a strong bond with their students, which helps them provide total support and build trust. The Emler guarantee is that every child can learn to swim and become safer in the water. This can be accomplished due to 48 years of experience and an award-winning curriculum.
Parents
Parents accompany their kids to every swim lesson. You start out in the water until your little one can submerge 8-10 seconds and move independently through the water 3-5 feet. Once these two things are accomplished and your child is ready, parents can sit on the pool deck to watch and cheer on your little one. Here is Emler’s Guide to Your Child’s First Swim Lesson for tips and ideas to help you through your first day at Emler.
Facilities
Emler’s state-of-the-art facilities are designed and maintained to ensure safety, cleanliness, and total comfort for parents and their little ones.
Find the Right Class for Your Toddler
Starting young children in swimming classes that match their swimming skills allows them to adapt naturally to water, gain confidence, and feel their parents’ and instructors’ support. That’s why Emler’s age-specific programs are made of progressive levels. We also offer a free Waterbabies Orientation.

What Your Toddler Will Learn
Your toddler will learn water safety techniques that will last a lifetime. The lessons utilize songs and games, making them more fun.
The Waterbabies program has six levels that help place your toddler at the right level depending on their skills.
In early stages, parents join their child in the water. But as their skills progress, your toddler will be with a teacher while you watch from poolside.
As your toddler improves their skills, they will first gain confidence in the water and learn to submerge comfortably for 8-10 seconds.
As their skill set improves, your child will learn to kick through the water, first for up to 3 feet and, at higher skill levels, for up to 10 feet.
At our X-treme Waterbabies level, your toddler will learn rollover breathing, an essential water safety skill where they learn to roll into a back float to take a new breath.
Throughout the toddler swimming lessons, the distance will get longer, the classes more fun, and the smiles wider!
