Baby Swimming Classes in Katy
Emler's Guarantee states that children can safely learn to swim while discovering their love for the water.
The Emler Swim School in Katy teaches children to swim when they’re as young as 6 months old; introducing them to the water through activities that can be practiced during bathtime at 2-5 months old.
How Early Can My Baby Start Swim Lessons?
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children start swimming at 1 year old, but Emler has proven through years of experience and a trusted curriculum that children can start taking lessons at 6 months old. Our baby-tailored classes offer love, support, and safety under the oversight of parents and instructors.
Do You Really Offer Swim Lessons As Young As 6 Months Old?
Yes! Emler’s Waterbabies programs are designed for 6 months to 35 months old. Then, your child enhances their skills through the Aquatots program for 3 year olds, as they’re already moving 8 to 10 feet through the water.
Read on to determine which class is best for your little one.
Emler’s Approach To Baby Swim Lessons
When introduced correctly, babies can love playing in the water. Emler’s approach to baby swim lessons is fun and games, as well as toys and songs, to help them feel more comfortable and less anxious in the water. This helps them to naturally find joy in the water, and swimming just adds to the fun while teaching a vital skill.
We ensure every class features a safe, comfortable atmosphere, complete with you holding your baby in the water. Forceful and scary methods have no place in our school, and we’re not fond of provoking fear, stress, or discomfort in our little swimmers. Additionally, we focus on positive reinforcement rather than competition. Everyone deserves to learn to swim at their own pace, especially when they’re young.
Water Safety: A Lifetime Skill
From bathtubs and swimming pools to lakes and beaches, water is all around us. Without the necessary water safety skills, this can be dangerous for children. We teach children to understand and respect water, as well as how to swim and stay safe, boosting their self-confidence in an aquatic environment. Our goal is not only to help them enjoy the water, but we want to teach them a survival skill that lasts a lifetime.
We combine love and fun with safety and supervision, creating a safe environment for babies when they’re as young as 2 months old.
In addition to water safety, learning to enjoy the water makes it easier for your family to choose vacation destinations and activities.

Parents join baby in the water
The Plus class is for babies who have learned the basics and are now comfortable under the water and can control their breath for 8 to 10 seconds. Now they learn to strike out on their own a little, and kick forward through the water three feet. Our instructors are super-attentive during this important class because it’s where babies learn that the water is not a struggle but a place to play in and travel through, for the sheer joy of swimming.
And don’t worry, Mom and Dad, a skilled instructor is right there for you too, cheering you on so YOU can feel confident as your baby concentrates on the fun.

Watch your baby practice entering the water, turning around to kick back to the wall, and then climbing out of the water. Congratulations, you have a water baby! Super Waterbabies
Parent joins baby in the water for the first 3 weeks
The Supers class is for two years of age, toddlers on land maybe, but able to move five feet through the water with ease. During this series of classes, parents will eventually get out of the water and cheer from the sidelines as the children learn more skills.
This class extends the range to seven feet of swimming and teaches: a sitting jump entry, then a turn in the water and a swim back to the wall. It’s going to be easy to encourage from the edge of the pool as these little swimmers have fun.
