Toddler Swimming Classes in Central Frisco - McKinney

Welcome to our Central Frisco-McKinney Aquatots program! This fun-filled class teaches your three-year-old breath control, submersion, and destination kicking, all through playful songs and games.

Whether your child is new to water or already has some skills, Emler has a place for them. We are experts in turning newbies into swimmers and improving the skills of those already familiar with water to reach Aquatots proficiency.

Our class groups are small and age-matched, with each child learning how to safely submerge under and kick their way forward in the water.

The Emler Way

At Emler, we believe in fun, growth, and learning. That’s why our classes are always filled with laughter, games, and exciting themes. We love celebrating every child’s achievements in our non-competitive environment.

Our highly-trained teachers help your child discover the fun in water in a safe, step-by-step way. Every new skill – holding their breath, rolling over, submerging, and swimming – brings more excitement.

Every Emler class is full of laughter and energy as children naturally develop their skills. Our teachers and students share a strong bond, built on trust and support. With a proven curriculum and 48 years of experience, Emler guarantees that your child will learn to swim.

What About Parents?

Parents, you’re a part of this journey! Once your child can move independently 3-5 feet and has a breath control of 8-10 seconds, you can watch and cheer poolside. Check out our handy guide, Your Child’s First Swim Lesson, for helpful tips. Plus, the Emler facilities are designed with safety and comfort in mind, for both you and your little swimmer.

Choosing the Right Class for Your Toddler

Toddlers are placed in the Waterbabies class where their skills will be assessed, and recommendations made for placement in the correct level. It is crucial to match your child’s current swimming skills and comfort level to the right learning environment. Once they can submerge for 8-10 seconds, and kick independently in the water, they will promote to Super Waterbabies where the parent can watch and cheer from the pool deck. The transition from parent in the water to parent on the deck only happens when the child is ready.

What Your Toddler Will Learn

Your toddler will learn water safety techniques that will last a lifetime. The lessons utilizesongs and games, making them more fun.

In early stages, parents join their child in the water. But as their skills progress, your toddler will be with a teacher while you watch from outside the pool.

As your toddler improves their skills, they will first gain confidence in the water and learn to submerge comfortably for 8-10 seconds.

As their skill set improves, your child will learn to kick through the water, first for up to 3 feet and, at higher skill levels, for up to 10 feet.

At our X-treme Waterbabies level, your toddler will learn rollover breathing, an essential water safety skill where they learn to roll into a backfloat to take a new breath.

Throughout the toddler swimming lessons, the distance will get longer, the classes more fun, and the smiles wider!
