Swim Stations

Want more time in the pool at Emler to practice swimming? Swim Stations are here for you!

Click here to Book a Swim Station!

We know that your kiddo loves spending time at the pool at Emler Swim School, and you would love to be able to have more time to practice skills with your child – that’s where Swim Station comes in! You can easily book time in the water  so you and your child can have some one-on-one time in the water together.

This is not a class, and you will not have a teacher there with you – this is just time for you and your child to utilize our year-round heated pools at Emler so you can practice skills together. Please note that it is a requirement for an adult guardian to enter the pool per swimmer during your Swim Station time slot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are you doing to keep everyone safe and healthy?

Safety has always been and will continue to be #1 at Emler. We’re doing what we’ve always done – followed or exceeded all local, state and federal guidelines – to protect not just your family but our employees as well.

We’re using CDC recommended cleaning products to wipe the facility every 30 minutes, and making hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available. Instructors are wearing face shields in the pool, and we are requiring all adults out of the water to wear face coverings over their mouths and noses. Kids are not required to wear masks in the pool but those over the age of 2 are encouraged to wear them while they are not in a lesson.

We are allowing only one caretaker to accompany each little fishy, and chairs in the observation room and on the pool deck are spaced 6 feet apart. Employees are monitoring traffic in and out of the building to remind people about social distancing. Plus, we are taking staff temperatures within 5 minutes of the beginning of a shift. There is more information on our Health & Safety Protocols page.

Are pools safe to swim in during COVID?

Yes, it’s safe to be in pools! According to the CDC, there is no evidence that the coronavirus can spread through properly maintained pools. We’ve always valued health and safety, which is why we already had a top-of-the-line purification system with UV lights that kills and inactivates viruses and bacteria in addition to using proper chlorine levels. Every Emler pool meets or exceeds CDC health standards. Plus, our leading-edge air filtration systems replace stale air from the facility with fresh air 8 times per hour.

Do parents or children have to wear masks in the pool?

No one has to wear a mask in the water. Masks in the water are unsafe, which is why we would never require them. Plus, masks are ineffective when they’re wet. Our instructors instead wear face shields in the water.

All adults, including employees and caretakers, out of the water are required to wear a face covering over their noses and mouths. Kids are not required to wear a mask out of the water. However, children over the age of 2 are encouraged to wear a covering over their mouth and nose when entering and exiting the building or if they are not actively participating in a lesson.

What are your class ratios?

We’ve always had small class sizes of 3-4 kiddos, as well as private lessons, and nothing has changed. We now offer the option to form your own private group with family, friends or neighbors you know. Additionally, another option is the parent & child class, with appropriate spacing between families in the pool, where kids receive instruction from a teacher on the deck. We are monitoring and strictly adhering to all local, state and federal guidelines regarding levels of occupancy and the number of people that are allowed in gatherings so we can continue to be the healthiest, happiest pool in town.

What is the best part about working for Emler every day?

Emler is such a fun and safe environment. Having conversations with kids every day is hysterical and unpredictable! Building relationships with families and making those connections is important to me.

What do you believe makes you a great site director?

My Emler team! I love being with the people I work with, and the families that we work for. I have a passion for people and the safety of others, and that is what Emler represents.

Share a childhood memory about your experience with swim lessons.

I’ve never had formal swim lessons; I grew up away from pools. When my family moved to Texas we later got a pool in the backyard. I do remember my dad teaching me how to swim across the pool and how to swim without holding my nose. I’ve always loved the water.

What favorite memory do you have from working at Emler?

I have so many great memories of working at Emler! One memory that stands out to me most was a student of mine overcoming his fear of the water. He started when he was three and wouldn’t even walk in the building. After two weeks of playing with toys in the observation room, he finally trusted me enough to get in the water. He has been swimming ever since, and promotes after each semester!

Share a childhood memory when you were brave and overcame fear.

Nine years old – Six Flags over Texas: Judge Roy Scream. My Aunt took me on my first roller coaster, which I did not enjoy during the first drop. After the first drop, I was fine and have been hooked ever since!
