Originally from Michigan, TIffany graduated from Sam Houston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. After 10 years of working retail, TIffany needed a change. She wanted to be passionate about her job but she also wanted to make a difference. Her career with Emler began as a Customer Service Manager, having 10 years of customer service experience and 5 years experience in management. She found Emler, and the rest is history! According to Tiffany, “it’s true what they say – ‘if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.’”
The people! They are truly what makes working for Emler unique. From my staff to the families that walk through the door, I love getting to know each of them while playing with the kids. At the end of the day, it’s the smiling faces and the overall feeling of excitement in the air that is especially rewarding!
I know that our people are the key to success. There isn’t any one thing that I do as a Site Director, but I credit all the little things that my team feels empowered to do every day that drives our success. As a leader, there is no better feeling in the world than watching your team do something great on their own. Servant leadership and pouring love into my team is what makes me feel successful.
Learning to swim is one of my favorite childhood memories. My grandparents had a pool and we spent the summers there. One summer my grandma told me it was time to take the floaties off and learn to swim. I remember her teaching me to kick and hold my breath under water. It was one of the best times of my life, getting to spend all that time playing in the water with my favorite person. I didn’t even realize I was learning until I was swimming to the bottom of the pool to dive for rings!
My first memory of working with kids at Emler also happens to be my favorite! I was doing my working interview with a group of kids in the pool when I witnessed a tiny human jump in the water, swim back, and then climb out! When he got out of the water he was so proud of himself that you couldn’t help but smile and cheer with him! It was then that I knew…whatever Emler was doing, I had to be a part of it!
When I was little I was terrified of rollercoasters. We were at Astroworld for a cheerleading competition and I finally got on a rollercoaster with my best friend after hours of convincing. I am so glad that I got on that rollercoaster! It was exhilarating, and I was so proud of myself for actually having the nerve to ride it. It taught me that even when you’re scared, if you show up and try, sometimes great things happen.
