Q+A with Chelsea

What is the best part about working for Emler every day?

Each day I’m excited to see the smiling faces of my families and staff. Of course, holding so many cute babies is another favorite perk!

What do you believe makes you a great site director?

I am really passionate about my staff and the families we serve. I go the extra mile to make sure every person and child is made to feel special, appreciated, and a part of our Emler family.

Share a childhood memory about your experience with swim lessons.

I loved being in the water at a young age. Although I was not a perfect swimmer, I loved diving to the bottom of the pool to get rings and toys!

What favorite memory do you have from working at Emler?

It’s really difficult to pick one of my favorite memories! Many children have been terrified of the water, and I love seeing their confidence grow and how their faces light up with they master new skills. When kiddos can finally jump into the pool all on their own, that is a cheer-worthy moment! Those are some of my greatest memories.

Share a childhood memory when you were brave and overcame fear.

When I was younger, I was deathly afraid of spiders. My family and I went to the zoo one weekend, and they had a spider display in the reptile area. My dad told me to close my eyes and hold my hands out, and one of the zookeepers put a tarantula in my hand. I opened my eyes and saw the spider. Surprisingly, I wasn’t scared! It was cool to see and feel the spider. Now, I still find spiders a little creepy, but I’m not scared of them anymore.
