Our “Littles” classes are 30 minutes long and structured as “parent and me”, with full or partial parent participation in the swimming pool, depending on the level. We offer swim classes for babies as young as 2 months old. Babies who are 2-5 months old can enroll in our “Bathtime Babies” class, where both parent and child enjoy one-on-one, uninterrupted time, and will learn water safety skills that help them be safe and comfortable during bathtime. Babies and toddlers who are 6 months+ progress into Level 1, where they will begin to build life skills using our unique “Jump, Turn, Swim” methodology which teaches children to turn around in the water and swim back to the edge to safety. Level 1 swimmers also learn how to go underwater for a full 10 seconds, which is the beginning of water safety. In Level 2, children begin to learn the basics of swimming and will end the level knowing how to kick 5 feet through the water to a destination and how to float on their backs.
Children who are age 3 will enroll in one of our Tot-level swim classes. All 3 year-olds, even those without any prior swimming experience, will start in level 3, and then progress into levels 4 & 5. Parents don’t participate in the water during our tot-level swim classes. All Tot classes have a small class size and a 4:1 ratio. In our Tot levels classes, your child will learn how to kick up to 12 ft through the water, how to hold their breath underwater, and they will advance their “Jump, Turn, Swim” safety skills. You will be amazed at just how much your child will learn during a 30-minute class using our play-based approach that utilizes fun inflatable rings, toys, and fins.
Any child who is age 4+ and does not have prior swimming experience will start in level 6, where they will learn basic water safety skills and will quickly advance to learning how to hold their breath underwater, kick 15ft through the water unassisted, and how to float on their back. In levels 7-9, children will learn how to swim with freestyle arms and get side breaths while swimming. All Kids classes have a small class size and a 4:1 ratio, and are 30-minutes long.
Our Advanced classes are for children ages 6+ who want to master the 4 strokes – freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke. In Levels 10 and 11, children will learn how to swim competitively, before graduating to our STEALTH swim team. As part of STEALTH swim team, your child will learn how to build their swimming speed, increase endurance, improve technique, and they will regularly compete in swim meets.

It’s never too late to learn! Emler Swim School offers encouraging, adult-focused lessons to help you gain confidence in the water, whether you’re overcoming fears, improving technique or just getting started.
Hey y’all! I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where I played sports all my life. I moved to San Antonio when I started college at the University of Texas at San Antonio. While in college I was fortunate to learn about Emler and was excited to join the team in 2018. After I graduated with my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Early Childhood Education concentration I knew I wanted to continue my Emler journey.
Since joining the team I have progressed from a teacher to a Field Operations Manager, to an Operations Manager and now General Manager. When I am not at work you can find me cross stitching or playing D&D with my friends. I am excited to continue my passion and make the world more water safe!
The best part of working for Emler everyday is getting to see all the children grow not just in the water but in life as well. I love when a kid comes in and shares what they have going on outside of swimming (i.e. theatre performances, soccer games, birthday parties).
I believe I am a great General Manager because I am passionate about Emlers mission of eradicating childhood drowning. With this passion I am able to support my team’s growth in our mission as well.
Growing up in west Texas there is no water so swim lessons were not normal. However, I can remember the first time I dove to the deep end with my cousin to retrieve a toy. It was so exciting and I knew I was strong in the water.
There are so many to choose from. I would say the one that was the most impactful was a few years ago. I had a student who never wanted to go by himself on the harder skills and then one day he came in to tell me that he could do it! Less than two seconds later he jumped out of my arms and swam 10 ft independently. To know that we were able to bond so well that he gained confidence was amazing!
I was not a really fearful child when it came to actions. However, I always had a hard time with being comfortable around new people. When I turned 10 I decided I wanted to be more open so I went with my dad to help at a sporting event. While there I asked if I could help in any way (which was nerve racking).
