Emler Welcomes Elswick to Management Team
Feb 08, 2017
Emler Swim School is proud to announce the addition of Melody Elswick to the management team at the company’s Kansas City-Leawood location.
Elswick - a native of Springfield, Missouri - will begin her duties as manager-in-training with Emler in February. She joins the organization after having served as shift leader at Isabel’s House Crisis Nursery. Elswick graduated from Missouri State University in December 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, Child & Family Development, with an emphasis in family studies. She is an alumna of Kickapoo High School in Springfield.
“We are very excited for Melody to join our team here in Leawood,” Andrea Hesterman, site director, said. “When we evaluate candidates for a position with Emler, we have to be a good fit for them as much as they need to be for us. Not only is Melody a great fit for this position, but I’m confident that she will grow exponentially in her professional career through this role.”
Prior to her time with Isabel’s House, Elswick worked as a pharmacy technician at Mercy Hospital, and as an assistant with the adult education & literacy office at Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield. She has also completed an internship with Jewish Vocational Services.
Emler’s manager-in-training program is a six- to 12-month job rotational program consisting of on-the-job training with an emphasis on leadership development. In a fast paced environment which is always evolving, MIT graduates have the advantage of leadership experience in all areas of Emler Swim School operations. Participants train and manage others at our swim schools in the following areas: teaching, deck managing, scheduling, customer service, staffing, training & development, safety and more.

Emler is a different place for your children to learn how to swim. It’s more than being the first company to construct a purpose-built teaching for children pool inside a shopping strip. It’s also more than having a time-tested curriculum, heated water, or even a highly-trained staff. At Emler, “Safety with a Splash of Love” is at the heart of all of our programs. We teach with care and encouragement, and the Emler Guarantee ensures that no child finishes the semester without having met program goals while developing a lifelong love for swimming.
