Our Preston Forest school offers a large 30’ x 40’ pool, as well as small, shallow one intended to increase comfort and create an optimal learning environment for young swimmers. We are located in northern Dallas County to serve the communities of North Dallas, University Park, Highland Park and Lake Highlands. We joined the community in 2005.
We’d love to find out more about how we can best serve you. Come by and take a free tour or go ahead and jump right in.
My career with Emler began in October of 2013. I applied for the teacher position while going to school to finish my degree. After two years, I graduated Brookhaven College with a degree in Education. I joined the MIT program and after a year, I promoted to Lead Deck Manager. I have so much passion for teaching kids how to swim and educating the parents on the importance of swim lessons. I knew I wanted to keep growing and not just help kids, but to help develop the teachers as well. After 6 months of being an LDM, I promoted to Aquatics Director here at the Preston-Forest location. My time with Preston-Forest has taught me patience, humility, and love for one another, and I’m so excited to now be the Site Director at this location.
My staff and the relationships I get to build upon every day, knowing that the children I teach and the families I get to interact with are safer with the lessons Emler Swim School has provided.
The people I get to work with every day makes me a great site director. Having them allow me to develop, listen and care for them is very rewarding.
My favorite memory from working with Emler has to be my first Waterbabies class. I was terrified that babies wouldn’t like me. When the first baby got handed to me, I distinctly remember him doing a deep stare into my eyes and showing me his big gummy smile. From that point on, babies have been a big highlight in my career.
They always have so much energy, they can be hilariously funny with no intention to be. I love that I can provide a life-saving skill and foster their love of swimming!
I enjoy being with my family, friends and my dog Red!
I love working with kids because I love seeing little people discover the world in their own way and helping them learn the ropes.
I love to grow plants, indoor and out, gardening and yard work.
Being around kids each day makes coming to work fun. Kids are silly, entertaining, and a lot of fun to talk to. I’ve seen sweet, chubby-faced infants become adorable toddlers and then personable, talkative grade-schoolers. Watching them grow up and become confident swimmers is a highlight of my job.
I love to write in my free time. I am an independent publisher and to date have published 7 books. I love to bring characters to life and tell their stories. I also love to spend time outdoors, hang out with my friends and family, and go to a good movie.
